Using Blaster Phone to call anyone who has a telephone number: As VoIP competition gets fierce, BlasterPhone branched out to VoIP resellers and VoIP carriers. They sell Pingo international calling cards and also have a billing manager. Whether you are using a Softphone, VoIP Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA), IP Phone or VoIP Gateway you can call and receive calls from any of their customers for free.
You are able to make international phone calls through the BlasterPhone.com web site, with no software to download. This is ideal when using a PC away from home (e.g. in Internet Cafes) and you are unable to download software to the machine you are using.
We start by mentioning this feature of Blaster Phone because many organizations including governments do not allow you to download and install software. While a softphone would be an advantage in many circumstances, a web based dialer is a nice BlasterPhone feature not found with many VoIP services. We did not test this feature.
If you prefer, you can download the free Software/Desktop dialer. This option provides the same high quality international calls as the web-based service, but removes the need to access the Blaster Phone web site each time. Download their software to use their service.
Free BlasterPhone automatically comes with our PC to Phone service. All BlasterPhone users can make and receive calls between each other using any SIP IP Phones or their Software / Desktop Dialer. This service is free. Simply dial 699, then their BlasterPhone ID. For example if their user ID is 123456, you would dial 699123456. Calls to all BlasterPhone users are free!
As you can see you do not receive a phone number that resembles a traditional telephone number. However when considering all the features of BlasterPhone it is worth a look and it comes with nice options.
